Professor Kamran Eshraghian
Position: Chairman and President
Qualifications : Dr-Ing e.h., PhD., MEngSc., BTech., FIEAust., CPEng

Professor Eshraghian  is best known in international arena as being one of the fathers of CMOS VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) having influenced two generations of researchers in both academia and industry.  In 1979, he joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Adelaide, South Australia, after spending some ten years with Philips Research, both in Australia and Europe. In 1994, he was invited to take up the Foundation Chair of Computer, Electronics and Communications Engineering in Western Australia, and became Head of School of Engineering and Mathematics, and Distinguished University Professor and subsequently became the Director of Electron Science Research Institute. In 2004 he founded  Elabs as part of his vision for horizontal integration of nanoelectronics with those of bio and photon-based technologies, thus creating a new design domain for System on System (SoS) integration. In 2007 he was the holder of inaugural Ferrero Family Chair in Electrical Engineering and visiting Professor of Engineering at University of California Merced prior to his move in 2009 to CBNU, Korea, as Distinguished Professor to lead the World Class University initiative. He has co-authored six textbooks, has lectured widely in very large scale integrated and multi technology systems and has over 40 patents. His current interests remain in the area of nanotechnology within the arena of computational neuro-science. He has founded six high technology companies, providing intimate link between university research and industry. His experience include:

Mr Frank O'Neill
Position: Director
Qualifications : BSc (Mathematics& Physics) Queen’s University Belfast, Alumnus Melbourne Business School, FAICD

Frank has had a career of almost thirty years in University Management with The University of Melbourne and with The University of Adelaide where he held the position of University Registrar (Chief Operating Officer) for sixteen years. As Registrar he made major contributions to planning and the development of the University Campuses, to Business Relations and the commercialisation of Intellectual Property and to International Education.

He also held many leadership roles in the Australian Higher Education System; in particular, he led the development and implementation of common system wide industrial awards and pay benchmarks and the development of software specifications for whole of enterprise activity.

He has acted as a Consultant to projects in Indonesia, Malawi, Singapore and Malaysia where he established a successful education business operating from headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

He has held visiting appointments at The University of Bath UK and at The College of William & Mary US and as an Adjunct Professor in The Faculty of Commerce at Charles Sturt University Australia.

Directorships
Frank has held several Directorships in Start Up companies based on IP developed by The University of Adelaide; two of these companies eventually listed on ASX.

He has also held Directorships in several private companies in the education and services industries in Australia and Asia.

Mr Rod Parker
Position: Company Secretary
Qualifications : Bachelor of Business, CPA

A CPA with a Bachelor of Business Degree and a Diploma in Corporate Management, Rod’s considerable experience includes 25 years in public practice, plus 12 years in the oil & gas and shipping industries. Rod’s clients have included public companies and those with turnovers of $10m+. Today, Rod spends much of his time in a business advisory role – ranging from start-ups and acquisitions to business development and eventual business sale.

Mr Crawford Yorke
Position: Legal Counsel
Qualifications : BCom Juris Doctor GDLP

Crawford is a Lawyer and Director of Loughton Yorke Lawyers and the prominent Perth based immigration law advisory Easymigrate – Australian Migration & Citizenship Services. He is admitted to practice as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and High Court of Australia and is a Registered Migration Agent. He has experience advising clients across a broad range of commercial, immigration, employment and wills & estates legal matters and continues to practice in those areas of law.

In particular Crawford regularly acts in relation to disputes and advises established businesses & new enterprises in relation to their corporate governance, threats and opportunities.

Crawford regularly prepares business sale & purchase agreements and advises in relation to employment relations and implementation of business investor & skilled employment visa programs for business.

Ms Ann Angel
Position: Senior Vice President Marketing

Ms Angle has a 25-year business background with international experience in introducing new products to new markets. She has been part of the management team in several Australian start-up technology companies in addition to establishing Asia Pacific distribution networks for a US technology company. Ann established her own medical device company in 1998 and that company has gained international recognition for introducing a new product to treat breast cancer patients. This product is now distributed around the world.  She has specific skills in market entry strategy and distribution chain management.

Ann has a particular interest in medical device regulations, with experience in navigating this process in several countries including an appeal process with the US Food and Drug Administration. She has managed product development/manufacturing for several new products, with an appreciation for low-cost product development to gain market feedback. She has two approved patents.

Her background includes working as an Investment Manager for a South Australian Government early stage VC fund, a facilitator for the Federal Government grants program, Accelerating Commercialisation, and as a facilitator for the women’s network Behind Closed Doors.

Dr Jason Eshraghian
Position: Chief Technology Officer
Qualifications : PhD., BEng, LLB

Jason is a Research Scientist at the Solid State Electronics Laboratory with the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he is working on brain-inspired computing by integrating emerging memory technologies with CMOS. He received his B. Eng and LL.B (2016), and Ph.D (2019) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Western Australia, Perth, WA.

From 2015 to 2016, he led the Memristive Retina Project as a Research Associate at Chungbuk National University, Cheongju, South Korea, where he designed an analog VLSI chip that mimics the image processing capabilities of the vertebrate retina. His contributions to neuromorphic computing led to Jason being awarded with the 2019 IEEE Very Large Scale Integration Circuits and Systems Best Paper Award in Sapporo, Japan, and the 2019 IEEE Artificial Intelligence Circuits and Systems Conference Best Paper Award in Hsinchu, Taiwan.

He concurrently developed a demonstrated history as an international Film Director and VFX Artist specialising in music videos, having worked with high-profile labels and artists with his work being viewed by tens of millions worldwide. He seeks to merge his interdisciplinary range of interests by using the silicon retina and generative neural networks in enabling artificially generated and biologically plausible creativity.

Jason serves as a member of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Technical Committee on Neural Systems and Applications, and also of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Mr Ray Najar

Mr Ray Najar

Following the completion of a Master’s Degree on a Rotary Foundation Fellowship in 1975/76, Ray established his own company RAYN Irrigation services. Ray was a foundation member in 1983, was the Regional Chairman of The Irrigation Association 92/94 & 96/98 and served as a Director on the Board of the National Irrigation Association 1997 to 2003. Has been a member of The Institute of Engineers Australia since 1986.  Joined James Hardie Pipelines in 1991 in Victoria as an Area Manager and then progressed to State and Export Manager – focusing on Middle East from September 1996 to 1998.

Recent studies with the Graduate School of Marketing and Management have helped in this new career path of export. Served as the General Manager of the Murray Darling Association from 2003 to 2014 and Bus SA adviser on the Water, Energy and Sustainable working group. Served on the State Landcare Council has recently completed 18years as State president, National Director and National President of the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Ray has published papers in Journals, written books and represented and presented on issues concerning his experiences in the Irrigation and Overseas Trade industries. During the past 3 years Ray has been focusing his energies in the study and setting up of bi-lateral trade between Australia and the Middle East.

Awarded the CITCSA – Dept of Industry and Trade, Highly Commended Ambassador of the Year for 2005. He is an active member of the Lions International since 1971 and was awarded the “Melvin Jones Fellowship” for 25 years in Humanitarian services, in 1996.
